Course Overview

Collaboration Quest kicks off the "Building the Middle School Dream Team'' series by laying the foundation for effective collaboration. Collaboration is the way dream teams are built! Get ready for an exciting journey to understanding the importance of roles within a team, and ensuring that each member's responsibilities are clear and aligned with the team's goals. You will explore how to assign, communicate, and manage responsibilities within a collaborative project. This will boost not only your teamwork & collaboration skills, but also innovation, creativity, and problem-solving skills! Join us on this “Collaboration Quest” to build the ultimate Dream Team!

1

Meeting Your Dream Team

Students will be entering a school corridor and discovering the promotional poster for the middle school Collaboration Quest. In the first module of the course, you will get to know the basics of teamwork and collaboration. In a series of tasks and challenges, you will uncover the importance of adaptability, the roles found in teams, why being an active listener is important, and how we use these skills in our daily lives.

Power of Teamwork

In the “Power of Teamwork” module, students will be completing tasks for the Collaboration Quest. The activities like the “Paper Towel Challenge” and the “Escape Rooms” will demonstrate the skills that support effective feedback and positive and productive teamwork.

Team Selection

The Dream Team is still hard at work finding their newest team members. They begin by exploring the importance of trust and building solid relationships. As the team continues, they will build stronger relationships and apply their own values to meet some common goals. In this module, they will complete all the steps to make sure that they have a strong foundation for everyone to continue with successful collaborations in the future.

Collaborative Planning

As the Dream Team wraps up their first phase of learning in “Collaboration Quest”, they focus on all the key elements of collaborative planning. The Collaborative Planning module is dedicated to the ongoing efforts of the Dream Team as they work on ways to generate project ideas, inspire creativity, build on one another's strengths, break down projects into manageable tasks, and set ambitious new goals. With this comprehensive approach, the Dream Team lays the groundwork for effective collaboration. As you plan to follow their lead, you will have a new set of tools to carry you towards success for years to come!
