Course Overview

Pranayama refers to breath control and breathing techniques as conscious breathing practices. By learning to regulate the breath, practitioners can enhance their energy levels, reduce stress, calm the mind, and even strengthen muscles! Pranayama techniques are crucial for maintaining a balanced nervous system. In this course, your child will learn different methods of breathing for clarity and attention, calming down when feeling stressed, how to incorporate breath with movement, and what pranayama does for our bodies on a scientific level.

Here's your introduction to the world of Pranayama! We'll explore the fundamental concepts, the movement of energy, and the importance of diaphragmatic breathing. By the end of this section, you will also engage in practical exercises to strengthen your respiratory muscles, and practice balanced breathing.

Investigating Your Breath

This section teaches you how to investigate your breath. You breathe in and out all day, but did you know that you can measure different parts of your breath? You'll learn all about your breathing habits and patterns while having baseline measurements to watch yourself grow and develop stronger breath.

This section teaches you all about using breath work to calm your body and your mind. There is information and breathwork you will learn that you can use as tools in your life when you feel restless, anxious, or stressed out.

Meet Course Creator, Lauren Danner

Lauren Danner is fueled by a passion for art, the power of words, the beauty of movement, mental wellness and treasured family moments. Known for her unwavering persistence and an endless well of creativity, Lauren can usually be found sipping coffee and nurturing her homeschooled children.Her yoga journey began as a means to enhance her musical theater performances. Little did she know that it would lead her on a path to cultivating a joyful and connected life. Lauren's teaching style fosters practices that are both immediately beneficial and sustainable for a lifetime. Her yoga classes are thoughtfully designed to move energy through breath, intention, meditation, and yoga poses. Lauren holds a BA in Theater, and is an E-RYT 500.
