Course Overview

In this course, your child will explore the term gratitude and the importance of practicing gratitude. Your child will learn about the four main principles of gratitude and how they can use these to guide their gratitude practice. This course also teaches children about simple actions of gratitude, such as saying thank you and acts of kindness.

What is Gratitude?

In this section, students will learn about what gratitude is and how it can be shown to others. Students will learn about the benefits of gratitude and have an introduction to ways to show gratitude to others.

Four Principles of Gratitude

The four principles of gratitude - noticing, thinking, feeling and doing are covered in this section. Students will learn what each principle means and what it looks like in practice.

Saying Thank You

Saying thank you is a simple way that we can show gratitude. But it can be very powerful when done right! This section dives deeper into the practice of saying thank you, exploring how different ways it can be done and the impact it has on people.

Stranger Danger Acts of Kindness

Acts of kindness are another simple way to show gratitude. In this section, students are introduced to the meaning of the term 'acts of kindness' before exploring different acts of kindness. The impact of acts of kindness on ourselves and others is covered in this section, exploring how it relates to gratitude.

Meet Course Creator, Kerry Wadsley

Following a degree in Elementary Education at Penn State (USA), I taught at The Elms School, UK for over 10 years, teaching students from 0-11 years. I taught in Key Stage 2 as well as being the Special Educational Needs Coordinator at the school. In 2016, I gained a Master’s in Education from the University of Nottingham (UK). My passion lies in helping students to achieve their potential and eliminating any barriers to learning.
